Returning a“Defective or doesn’t work” product?

We have a limited warranty for all products purchased from our Authorized Reseller for 365 days. We offer a 30 days money back guarantee for all of our products (for cost of returning, please see our shipping policy). Day 1 is the day of delivery. After 30 days, please contact our customer service for further instruction on diagnostic of the issue before authorization of return will be granted.

Can I set up Riley on my tablet?

Yes, Riley support both iOS and Andriod based tablet.

Below is a list of iOS (7.0 or above) tablet tested:
iPad 2, iPad (3rd gen), iPad (4th gen), & iPad Air 2
iPad Mini, iPad Mini 2 & iPad Mini 3

Below is a list of Andriod (4.3 or above) tablet tested:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 : 7.0, 8.0, & 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 : 7.0 & 8.0
Asus Google Nexus 7

Can I connect to multiple Rileys from the same smart device? And how many smart devices can I setup to each Riley?

Yes, you can connect your smart device to an unlimited number of Rileys, but you can control only one at a time.

And yes, you can connect as many smart devices as you wish to each Riley, but you can connect/control by one smart devices at each given time.

All you have to do, is to run the setup procedure (see installation guide or our YouTube channel) for each smart device.

What is the LED color and sequence represent?


Riley Rebooting – Blinking Green

Riley Reboot complete – Solid Green (Ready for Wi-Fi setup)

No Battery – Blinking Red

Resetting – Blinking Purple

Connected to smart device – Solid Cyan (Ready for Smart device setup)

Connecting to home network – Blinking Green-Yellow

Connected to smart device – Blinking Cyan


Charging – Solid Purple

Charging Complete – Solid Blue

What are the network securities in place?

Riley required a two-step password and video data also encoded for security.

Note: Riley is not designed to work behind firewall or with hidden network.

Is Riley safe for my family?

Yes, Riley is ROHS/FCC/CE/JPMIC compliant.

Can Riley send message alerts when motion is detected?

Yes, Riley will send a in-app alert (make sure notification for the app is “ON”) and store up to five 10 seconds videos. At this time Riley does not support cloud storage.

How does Riley store photos and video recordings?

Yes, Riley can store photos and images through the app.

What is the voltage rating for the charging dock?

The charging station supported voltage between 100-240V.

How long is the battery life?

Typical use of Appbot Riley will result in 1.5 hours of battery life.

How long does it take to fully charge?

Riley will take 4 hours to charge.

What is your shipping policy and where will you be shipping from?


1) All international buyers are responsible for all cross-border related cost (i.e. import tax, etc.).
2) Buyer to pay for all return items regardless of reason of returns after return of purchase is approved.
a) We normally ship within 2-3 business days following the receipt of an order, unless otherwise communicated.

b) We will ship from California, USA.

Can I zoom in/out with Riley camera?

No, Riley does not support digital zoom capabilities.

Can Riley be programmed to navigate on its own?

At this time, Riley does not have this capability, but plan on adding that in the future.

Can I operate Riley from my PC desktop?

Not at this time.

Is Riley waterproof?

At this time, Riley is not waterproof.
